Dr Namal Senasinghe recieved his education at Trinity College Kandy and graduated from North Colombo medical college in SriLanka in 1991. Since 1991 he has had two and a half years of postgraduate training in Sri Lanka and seven years in the UK in anaesthesia and chronic pain management. He had his training at St Barthlomews and the London school of anaesthesia. He was appointed as a consultant in pain medicine & anaesthesia to the East Kent NHS University trust in March, 2003. For the last 10 years he has been working for the same NHS trust. As of 2013, he has started practicing pain medicine in Sri Lanka at the prestigious Nawaloka private hospital. He was instrumental in setting up the Nawaloka Pain Management centre in 2011 which is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka. Currently he spends his time between the two countries practicing pain medcine. In an 8 week cycle, he spends 6 weeks in the United Kingdom and 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. In June 2013, he was appointed as a consultant to the sports medicine unit of Sri Lanka.
